William Melvon Clemons, USMC” – This energetic and complex Sonata captures the memories, scenes and sentiments of Kaloian’s days in the US Marine Corps as the Pianist, Composer/Arranger for the Fleet Marine Force Pacific Band in Peal Harbor, Hawaii, where Capt. Clemons was his Band Officer, illuminating their 3+ years of creative professional work together and close friendship. William Clemons died tragically in 2014 and the Sonata is Kaloian’s response to a sense of deep personal loss.
